Valparaiso University Softball Camps
Fall Experience Camp
Participants will be able to experience the day in the life of a Valpo softball player. The morning session will include skills sessions dedicated to both offense and defense , while the afternoon will include 2 scrimmage games. There will be a classroom session offered to student-athletes to help them expand their knowledge of the game. These sessions will take place at different facilities to highlight the VU campus.
- Three training sessions designed to specifically work on hitting, pitching or defense
- One “classroom” session where athletes can pick an area of interest to learn more about
- Free Lunch
- Free T-shirt
- Play two games against other campers, with certified umpires

WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, CAMP IS LIMITED TO 64 ATHLETES. THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST WILL BE CONTACTED TO FILL ANY OPENINGS. To reserve a spot on the waiting list, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If an application is withdrawn for any reason on or before September 4, a full refund will be given less a $20 administrative fee.
If an application is withdrawn for any reason after September 5, no refund will be given.
In the even of inclement weather, the morning session will be moved indoors and games will not be played. NO refund will be given.
This camp is limited to 8 pitchers, catchers, first basemen, second basemen, third basemen and shortstops. There is room for 16 outfielders. The position you register for will be the position you play in the games.
Camp Director: Director - Coach Jordan Stevens enters his fourth season at the helm of the Valparaiso University softball program, after leading the Crusaders to the most successful season in program history in 2012. Valpo claimed its first Horizon League Championship on its way to its first NCAA Appearance.
The 2013 season was just as good with the Crusaders winning their second straight Horizon League Championship and winning their first NCAA game in program history.
Under Steven’s guidance, a remarkable 16 players received Horizon League post season awards. In addition, the Crusaders have placed two players on the NFCA All-Midwest Region Team and one was named a finalist for the NFCA Player of the Year in 2012.
Members of the Valparaiso University softball team and coaching staff will also be present.
Facility: This Valpo Softball camp will take place at the Valparaiso University Campus. Camp portions will be held at the softball field, Brown Field, ARC, and in Kroencke Hall.
Equipment: Participants must bring their own cleats, gloves, bats, batting gloves, helmets, and any other material you may need to participate in camp. No equipment will be provided. Participants should come dress prepared to play in scrimmage games.
Camper Conduct: With my application, I agree to abide by all camp policies and guidelines set forth at the time of registration by the camp director. I understand that these policies are intact for my safety and that any breech of these policies may result in immediate dismissal from camp at my own expense.
Concessions: Concessions will not be available to participants and spectators. Campers are asked to bring their own drink/snack for camp.
